Before you get started

A clear path from idea to next step.

Explore the budget, choose a manageable scope, and decide where professional help is worth paying for.

01

Plan the scope

Use the project calculators for a starting range. Write down measurements, site conditions, and what is included.

02

Choose your route

Use a DIY planner for a supported project or request contractor help. Shopping links let you compare materials at retailers.

03

Check before committing

Confirm local costs, availability, requirements, and the full scope. An online plan does not replace a site visit or a written agreement.

Questions worth answering first

Why is a nationwide website called Cranberry Project Guide?

The project started in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. Planning tools now support homeowners across the United States, while the original name remains. Contractor coverage is still being built.

Does a calculator result mean someone will do the work for that price?

No. These are illustrative planning models, not verified national averages, ZIP-specific prices, or contractor quotes. Local labor, site conditions, materials, and scope can move the price outside the displayed range.

What happens when I request help?

Your request enters our owner dashboard for manual review. We may contact you for more details and, with your permission, share it with up to three potentially relevant contractors. There is no guaranteed match, response time, or obligation to hire. The confirmation screen displays a request reference; an automatic confirmation email is not sent.

Are listed contractors verified partners?

No. The current invitation profiles are unclaimed and based on public business information. A listing does not establish membership, endorsement, licensing, insurance, or availability. Confirm these directly with the business before hiring.

Can I use the tools without providing contact details?

Yes. Calculators, DIY planning, shopping links, and the directory can be used without signing up. Contact details are needed only if you choose to submit a request.

How does the site make money?

The business model includes separately agreed contractor lead fees and affiliate commissions on qualifying shopping referrals when those programs are activated. Standard shopping links do not earn us a commission. Any affiliate links are identified beside the shopping section. Using the planning tools is free.

Can I do only part of a project myself?

Yes. Agree on the split with the contractor before buying materials or starting work. Ask who is responsible for quantities, compatibility, delivery, disposal, permits, and warranties. Some contractors will not install customer-supplied materials.

How do I correct or remove a business profile?

Open that business’s profile and use the claim, correct, or remove form. Requests are reviewed manually, and ownership or authorization may need to be confirmed. You can also contact Daniel through the contact page.
